Culture shift after layoffs in 2022/2023

      Solution engineer
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great health and wellness benefits, good diversity and many volunteer opportunities.

      Cons

Workload and job expectations increased after they laid a bunch of people off. They expected more from existing employees without additional compensation. They transitioned to a do more with less culture, back to startup feels, but the problem is they’re not a start up.

      Good for core product teams

"Stifling Work Environment: Overwhelming Hours, Micromanagement, and Lack of Recognition at Salesforce SMDS"**

      Senior software engineer
      Current employee
      Hyderābād
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Here’s a balanced take on the pros of working at Salesforce SMDS: **Pros:** 1. **Innovative Technology:** Salesforce is a leader in cloud computing and customer relationship management (CRM), providing employees with exposure to cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices. 2. **Diverse and Inclusive Culture:** The company promotes a diverse and inclusive work environment, offering a range of employee resource groups and initiatives aimed at fostering a supportive and respectful workplace. 3. **Career Development Opportunities:** Salesforce offers numerous resources for professional growth, including training programs, mentorship, and the possibility to work on a variety of projects within the organization. 4. **Strong Benefits Package:** The company provides competitive salaries, comprehensive health benefits, and various perks like wellness programs, flexible working arrangements, and generous time-off policies. 5. **Collaborative Work Environment:** There is a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, with a culture that encourages employees to share ideas and work together towards common goals. 6. **Global Reach:** Working at Salesforce gives employees the opportunity to be part of a global company with a vast network, offering the chance to connect with professionals from around the world and gain international experience.

      Cons

Certainly! Here’s a blunt take on the cons: **Cons:** 1. **Excessive Work Hours:** Expect to sacrifice your personal time with an overwhelming workload and late-night calls becoming the norm, with little regard for work-life balance. 2. **Stifling Micromanagement:** The constant micromanagement from supervisors creates a toxic atmosphere, leaving employees feeling undervalued and suffocated rather than empowered. 3. **Unacknowledged Effort:** Despite relentless dedication, hard work goes unrecognized, leading to frustration and a sense of futility. 4. **Poor Communication:** Lack of clear and supportive communication from higher-ups exacerbates workplace stress and hampers productivity. 5. **High Turnover and Burnout:** The demanding environment contributes to high employee turnover and burnout, making it difficult to build long-term career stability. 6. **Limited Growth for Hard Workers:** Even if you go above and beyond, opportunities for advancement can be limited, with career progression often feeling stagnant despite significant effort.

      Pros

Salesforce India has been a game-changer in my career! The collaborative culture fosters innovation, with managers who trust you to own your work and provide constant feedback for growth. Work-life balance shines through generous PTO, parental leave, and wellness perks including fitness reimbursements and free meals at the stunning Hyderabad office. Learning opportunities abound with top-tier training, Trailhead platforms, and internal mobility to exciting projects. Competitive pay, RSUs, and equal pay initiatives make it rewarding too. If you're seeking a supportive, high-impact environment in India's tech hub, join Salesforce—it's where talent thrives!

      Pros

Great perks like Employees Assistance Program, career coach, free counselling, insurance and wellness benefits

      Cons

      - The company still operates like a startup but trying to play with the big players in the market. The new board is dictating a lot of the operational aspects of the company especially the current layoffs in the name of AI. - The community which used to be the heart of this organisation is longer supporting the new outlook and strategy of “grow at all cost”. Earlier it was all about Ohana - family before. - Lots of burnout as there is no work-life balance as the company still operates scrappy like a startup with lack of mature processes and tools. SSO and 2factor authentication was also implemented recently like 2 years ago. - To many changes every quarter prevents you to excel, innovate and grow,

Sales and Prospecting roles at Salesforce

      Senior sales development representative (sdr)
      Former employee
      Bengaluru
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - High pay: 20-30% higher than industry standards for the same role - Additional benefits: Good range of health insurance plans, wellness benefits, education reimbursements, ability to earn more through performance related spiffs - Decent Breakfast, Lunch and Evening snacks available in office - Office premises are one of the best that one can get

      Cons

      - No internal movements: No opportunity for internal movements outside your role, especially if you're in a sales role leadership will actively discourage and sabotage movement to different career lines. - Very slow Progression: Overhiring has led to a glut of people in the sales prospecting role who aren't able to get promoted into a closing role as no headcount is available there. - Very high employee burnout: As a $400 million+ company you cannot expect a 30% YoY growth in revenue, yet that is the expectation from national leadership. This has led to very high churn in the Sales departments with people leaving in a span of a few months (despite the benefits of high pay)

      Pros

Good benefits, wellness reimbursement and health insurance

      Cons

I've been her for nearly 10 years so I've seen many changes but in recent years the sparkle has really started to dim. You used to feel genuinely valued but now they only care about appeasing their angel investors, cutting costs in stupid places and its been mass layoff after mass layoff. Marc Benioff now siding with Trump was the last straw for me, we used to be the antithesis of everything Trump supports.
