What is working from home like at SolarWinds?

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Excellent campus facilities Friendly, helpful people Great benefits Flexible time-off, work from home (2+ days or as needed) Desire by leadership to listen and improve the culture

      Cons

Growing pains of global company, time zone differences, leadership changes, and murky business strategies can create uncertainty at times

      Pros

High level of work from home. Concall in Hoodie is allowed. Pay is okay for hardwork.

      Cons

Micromanagement from Managers not Leaders. Lots of multiple manager scenarios. Little prospect of progressing if not in HQ or larger regional office. If your not of sub continent extraction or a friend of existing managers you will likely not get a look in. Lots of pointless training. Lots of pointless meetings

Supportive Culture with Global Exposure and Learning Opportunities

      Associate talent acquisition
      Current employee
      Bengaluru

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Supportive Work Culture: The work environment is inclusive and collaborative, with supportive leadership that encourages professional growth. Global Exposure: Working with cross-regional teams (APAC, EMEA, Americas) provides great learning opportunities and enhances cultural awareness. Learning Opportunities: Plenty of scope to learn and contribute meaningfully—especially in areas like Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, and Diversity & Inclusion. Flexible Work Arrangements: Good work-life balance with flexibility where needed, and understanding from managers. Employee-Centric Policies: Wellness initiatives, open communication, and frequent check-ins from HR make employees feel valued. Transparent Leadership: Regular town halls and updates keep employees in the loop, and leadership is approachable.

      Cons

The fast-paced environment means you’re constantly learning — it can be a bit intense at times, but it's great for those who enjoy being challenged. With global teams across time zones, collaboration sometimes stretches beyond regular hours — but it’s a valuable experience in cross-cultural communication. Processes are evolving as the company grows, so adaptability is key — which also opens up space for proactive contributors to make a real impact. High standards and performance expectations push you to give your best — it’s demanding but incredibly rewarding for self-driven individuals.

Great Company. But stay away from technical support

      Pros

The people you work with are awesome. Financially, it compares to most tech companies. I started at the bottom as an individual contributor with Management and Leadership experience. Within 18 months I was recognized and promoted to Manager after a round of interviews. I was allowed to start projects and shape new roles and teams that are still in use at SolarWinds to this day.

      Cons

The downside is strictly limited to the people leading the Technical Support program. The current VP of Support is no more than an individual contributor masquerading as a professional. I worked for over a decade at SolarWinds. Every boss or Director or VP, took the time to get to know the people in Leadership positions. Especially Senior Leadership. However, there was no investment made in me as a person or leader. Instead, several leadership positions over the last two years started being filled by friends and former coworkers of this VP of support. Those new leadership hires had no direct reports but carried Manager titles. Eventually, I was quite coldly asked to work from home instead of the office one day. The next thing I know I was asked to take a severance. After a decade of service and a proven track record of great performances (with the exception of one 6 month period in my entire career, I was an exceeding performer), that was it. Laid off at Christmas. So my story is quite personal. But to be honest, I saw it happen to better people than myself over the last two years and the reign of current leadership in Support. I just tried to convince myself that they wouldn't do that to me. And yet here we are. So, word of advice if you are reading this, maybe let the current leadership fail and move on to stripping the resources of the next company before you move on to SolarWinds.

Great People, amazing benefits, confusing strategy

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The people at SolarWinds are great. I've truly enjoyed interacting with everyone and I am happy to have built my network in a great company. I also value my work-life balance; the hybrid work environment is the best of both worlds - I get to interact with coworkers in person and also get to work from home a couple of days a week. I also really love our overall benefits package; it fits my needs, and I am very pleased with the thought that goes behind every benefit we have.

      Cons

I am confused about our company strategy. I am not sure what our one-year or five-year plans are, which can be frustrating, especially when many leaders are let go. I understand that change needs to happen to get where we need to go, but not knowing where that is makes it quite confusing and can lead to distrust in leadership.
