What is the hiring process like at Stryker?

      Worst Support Management

      Pros

NO PROS, NO PROS, NO PROS

      Cons

I am writing to bring attention to the concerning state of management both in India and the US. The current leadership lacks effective management skills, leading to a toxic work culture characterized by micromanagement, inefficiency, and poor decision-making. Rather than focusing on results and employee growth, there is an excessive emphasis on control, which hampers productivity and creates an unhealthy work environment. Additionally, the hiring process appears flawed, with individuals being recruited based on perception rather than actual skills, resulting in an unqualified leadership team that struggles to provide the necessary guidance and support. I strongly urge the organization to reconsider its entire management structure and prioritize hiring competent professionals who understand their roles and can foster a more positive, productive workplace. Until these fundamental issues are addressed, I would not recommend this company to any prospective employee.

      Going through Changes

      Regional sales manager
      Former employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Overall it is a great place to work. Great hiring process, supportive of employees, and always looking to add to the portfolio. In general, they have great leadership (Kevin Lobo, CEO is tremendous).

      Cons

Extremities divisions have yet to find the correct leadership. Internal promotions are very difficult. Organization is slowly choke-holding Sales Representatives ability to obtain the pay they deserve (add more heads, pay best reps less money).

      Pros

Everyone you work with at Stryker is working to get better everyday

      Cons

The hiring process takes a very long time

Collaborative and challenging, but lengthy hiring process

      Manufacturing engineering intern
      Former employee
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Highly collaborative, challenging environment in the best way.

      Cons

      The hiring process is extensive.

Good entry point into medical devices but tough culture and unclear progression

      Orthopedic technician
      Former employee
      Arndell Park
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

A good role for new graduates in MedSci or Biomed who want to get into medical devices industry. You gain hands-on exposure to surgical kits and learn about logistics, scheduling, and product management.

      Cons

The work environment can be very competitive and sometimes feels toxic, with people quick to talk rather than support. Training is not well-structured or standardised into clear milestones, so progression often depends more on convenience than a transparent process. The interview process was drawn out, taking about a month and requiring three to four rounds before being offered the position.

      3

Highly Unorganized For Such a Large Organization

      Contract analyst
      Former employee
      Portage, MI
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The pay was good and I got to work remotely.

      Cons

The hiring process is very long. It took 7 interviews even though I had worked for them before. It's a billion dollar company and every department is run like its own company which is incredibly frustrating. It makes everything harder. There are no official trainings. It's all watch and learn. Maybe the sales side is better but I hear it's rough.

      Pros

-Fiscally-sound organization with great outlook -A premium is placed on the hiring process, so talent tends to be appropriate for the role -Growth opportunities -Progressive organization re. hybrid work -Modern physical office, great coffee, great gym -Previous CEO had to resign for humorous reasons

      Cons

-The jock culture of the sales teams can be exhausting. I've never seen so many ex-Division I athletes in one place! -Specifically within sales and marketing, the ones who get ahead are amazingly skilled at self-promotion, deflecting mistakes, and making something from nothing (this is the case in many companies, but Stryker sales and marketing do it the best I've ever seen). -Heavy workload within a high-stress environment -Stryker spends a lot of resources hyping itself up. It can be exhausting if you're not ready for it!
