I interviewed at American Family Insurance
Brief 45 min. A little about me, ~5 behavioral questions, 2 REALLY basic 'technical' finance questions. It took about 2 weeks to get an interview, about 3 weeks to here back. They were good about explaining the process.
- The questions were different. Tell me about a time you led inclusively. To me, that's extremely broad, and I wasn't 100% sure they getting at.

3 tiered interview process. Started with a phone interview. Manager, district manager. The interviewers were all kind and courteous. I felt treated fairly. I would have worked here but did not get an offer.
- How would you describe yourself?

Very smooth and to the point. All online. No trick questions. Two test you must take. Then two interviews with management. Standard interview questions. Telecall on Microsoft team. Easy to understand questions. They ask for a story in you experience you have
- Goals with company and experience

Phone call then in person. Overall they make it very easy for you. The automated phone part can be a little stressful as you do not get any feedback. In person was very laid back and not intimidating.
- Why are you interested in insurance

I applied online. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at American Family Insurance in Mar 2023
The process took seven months and ended completely unprofessionally on their part. This is for a senior role with a very unique skillset. I was interviewed by seven people at every level in the chain of command (HR screener, peer manager, team members, direct report, boss, and boss's boss). I had to prepare for two case study interviews. The process was professional and thorough except for the timeframe between interviews. Many weeks, up to two months, would go by without any word after an interview. I assumed, each time, I didn't make the cut and was being ghosted given the length of time but then they would pop up and ask to schedule the next interview. I was aware of the interview process from the beginning but not the length of time they took to hire candidates in this particular department (Tenney 110/Corporate Dev M&A) until deep into the process. As I got to the end of the process, I was told things were going well. I was even told, "We think we've found our candidate and that candidate is you." Right before the last interview, I was told they wanted to make a decision and get an offer out by the end of the month, which was a few weeks after the interview. Right after the interview, I was contacted by HR saying that I would be hearing from them at the end of the month, just as explained earlier. Then the day before I was expecting an offer, after an interminable seven-month process, I received an email from the hiring manager saying they decided they "were going in a different direction with the position" and would repost the job with different qualifications, which I didn't have. I was stunned, to say the least. I read that some companies were utilizing a new and highly underhanded HR trick which I may have fallen for. Companies will post and interview candidates for hard-to-fill positions where there is no current opening. They do this on an ongoing basis so when they do need to fill this role they can select from candidates that are already well along in the hiring pipeline, shortening the hiring process for them. Be aware that American Family Insurance (Tenney 110/Corp Development) does this or they are clueless as to what they need and don't care about wasting people's time.
- Two case study interviews along with the typical interviews for a senior-level role. The first case study was a detailed business analysis of a new venture. The second was a financial analysis of another new venture.

Easy. Each employer is a small business inside of American family so they are different depending on the location. Most of them were easy to talk to. I worked at 3 different ones

Questions about CV, and some basic machine learning questions, such as CNN, RNN, LR, and cost function. How to select metric for classification problem and regression problems. What is the difference between f1 and roc-auc.

Pretty streamlined interview process. 2 to 3 Interviews. Be prepared to talk about problems you solved in past roles. Decision after interview are usually after 3-4 weeks. Pretty slow on response compared to others but worth it.
- A. Describe a project where you had substantial impact

I interviewed at American Family Insurance
It was a tiered process with the inital screening call and then a follow-up. I was told I would be reviewing a project and submitting my inital thoughts on the project as a try out. I was told I was going to make it to the third round but then was told several weeks later that I wasn't.
