First interview with recruiter took about 30 minutes and typical interview questions were asked. The recruiter was fairly knowledgeable on company and corporate culture. At the end the interview, the recruiter informed me she wanted me to speak with a member of the leadership team as the next step. I provided a few time slots when I was available in the next few days/weeks to setup second meeting.
There was no response after a full week so I emailed the recruiter and she informed they are still in the process of interviewing others. After 2 weeks without a response, I sent another email and got a similar reply. After 3-4 weeks I sent a third email and a few minutes later I got one of those generic rejection e-mails job seekers get when they apply for a job but are not selected to move forward. I found this quite rude since I took the time to interview with them I would have expected at least a custom e-mail explaining the reason why.
Advice: Don't inform candidates they made it to the next step unless there is 100% certainty, otherwise you get their hopes up for no reason.
