There was a phone screen with a university recruiter. Then two separate phone interviews with members of the whole team. Standard interview questions. Some technical questions about Excel skills and programming experience. They were flexible about being able to interview over the phone. It seems like they really wanted the internship to become a full time position.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Blue Shield Of California in Oct 2014
Interview
They requested an on-campus interview with me after receiving my résumé through our statistics department. Met for fifteen minutes with an analyst from Los Angeles area. Conversational meeting, very relaxed. Interviewer just wanted to get a feel of how you handle group projects and what you know. Interviewer did not expect me to be an expert with their software. I was given time at the end to ask questions about their company, office culture, etc.
