I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CGI in Aug 2014
Interview
CGI HR manager contacted me via email and set a technical code interview via skype.
The interview is easy if you know the java basics and database access.
The technical code test is pretty straight forward even for a junior java developer.
You will be given access to a remote machine via web and you have about an hour to do the test, it took me exactly 45 mins ( you are free to use google)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
, They gave me an existing code and asked to find and rectify the defects ( 1 defect ) and add 2 new features (sort and search). the test was setup with SpringDao, a controller and a main class with 3 model classes.
I applied online and received a Technical Assessment invite within a week, which I passed and received an HR call on the same day to let me know that I passed the assessment and will receive an Interview invite in a few days. After 3-4 days, HR again called me to let me know that the position had been filled and they would keep my profile with them for future positions.
Assessment was based on Java, Spring Framework, Azure, Microservices, Agile, Kafka, SQL and GIT. It was a mix of MCQ (easy to hard, must have good knowledge about the topics) and 2-3 coding questions (easy to medium difficulty).

Interview
The selection journey began with an online test to check our aptitude and basics, followed by a group discussion to assess communication and teamwork. Then came two levels of technical interviews testing knowledge, and finally an HR round evaluating personality and fit.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at CGI (Rotterdam) in Jan 2024
Interview
It was a straightforward interview for the position of a consulant, they asked me about my previous experiences and how I would like to keep developing myself. Afterwards they asked me to send them a more extended version of my resume where I should describe my past experiences in more detail so they could verify which clients would suit me best. I spent a few hours working on my new resume and sent it to them the next day. However, I never heard from them again, even after reaching out multiple times. Shame that they treat people like this!
