      UI/UX Designer Interview

      Jan 2, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CSG

      Interview

There were 3 rounds of interview: 1st a call with the recruiter, then 2 technical interviews with different team members. The technical interviews were 1h30 each, with technical-ish questions (I say this because there were no designer interviewers, they were POs, devs, PMs and such) and in the last round I was asked to design (live, with no warning whatsoever that there would be such a task in the interview) wireframes for a concept given by the interviewers. This felt completely disrespectful since there was no warning that it would take place. After the last round, I received a generic rejection email, which also felt disrespectful given the amount of time I had dedicated to the process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked about tools, processes, collaboration, which apps I think have good and bad UX, etc, and asked me to design wireframes for a field service management app.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CSG (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Jan 2025

      Interview

I went through three rounds of job interviews. The first was a phone call with a recruiter, and then I had two interviews with different team members. Each of these technical interviews lasted about an hour and a half and included some technical questions, but the people interviewing me were mostly product owners, developers, and project managers, not designers. In the final round, I was unexpectedly asked to create wireframes for a concept they provided, which surprised me and felt disrespectful because I wasn’t prepared for that. After the last round, I waited almost two weeks for feedback and received a standard rejection email, without any replies to my emails. This felt dismissive, especially given the time and effort I put into the process. Also, the pay was quite low compared to the market. On a personal note, I currently have a mother with cancer, and the time I spent on this job search caused us to miss her appointments.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me questions about tools, teamwork, and which apps I think are easy or hard to use. They also wanted me to create some wireframes for a field service. It was hard to understand some of the questions because the English of a few people wasn’t very clear.
