I reached out ohad who happens to be the VP of the company in LinkedIn. Initially I saw a post of him saying he was hiring for principal frontend engineer who has 7 plus YOE. I had around 8 years so I had reached out to him expressing my interest in taking up the role. Although I was a SSE, I have done a lot of work in FE and was strong in my skills so asked him for an interview. After looking my profile, he simply I don’t read like a principal engineer and will point to staff engineer openings to HR.
I told him ok and still told him that I was confident that I can do the same job what a principal engineer will do.
He immediately without explaining anything gave a BS reply that I am not a cultural fit for his org because am not accepting his feedback. Such an arrogance just trying to out rightly judge/label someone without even having an interview or even a phone call to actually conclude if I had the skill set. All I asked for him is a chance to apply for the position and he simply stopped the conversation with this response.
What’s wrong in asking for a chance to apply to prove myself that this guy simply told yes and then no that I am not accepting his feedback just by taking a look at resume. Such a negative experience for any level of engineer with people in power like this to their talent as well as their time and effort.
