I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Dropbox
Interview
Interviewer was very approachable and friendly, and he seemed earnestly interested in everything I had to say. I had a very great experience and thought I would get 2nd round but did not. First we talked about my background, he asked me what got me into the field. Next we reviewed some of my portfolio pieces and he asked about them - what was the inspiration behind some, which one was my favorite and why, etc. Next the interviewer gave me a blank clock interface and asked me how i would design it and design the interactions for it (it had 2 screens and 2 arrow up/down buttons).
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Dropbox (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2018
Interview
Recruiter call, 1:1 portfolio review, Design Challenge, Panel to review Design Challenge. Very nice people to talk to, but the design challenge was difficult. Most frustrating part was doing the design challenge and then getting a rejection with no feedback. Many companies are moving away from design challenges because it's hard to ask students to spend hours on end designing with made up constraints during the school year. I suggest Dropbox follows, left me with a bad taste after no feedback.

Question 1
Why Dropbox? Favorite type of design. Tell me about a project you've worked on.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and provide feedback on the interview process, we really do appreciate it. That sounds like a frustrating situation to be in, and then not receive any feedback. I’ll pass the note along to the team and I hope one day we can earn back your interest.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dropbox (New York, NY) in Jan 2018

Portfolio-based interview. First round the standard recruiting call to get background information and to see if you're qualified for the role. Second round is a video conference interview where you talk with 2 other people and present your past work.
