I interviewed at DuPont (Wilmington, DE) in Dec 2012
Interview
I applied online for the Field Engineering position.
A couple of weeks passed by but then I got a call one afternoon explaining that this was someone at DuPont and they wanted to know if I was ready to have a phone interview. I politely rescheduled due to the fact that I was walking to class when I got the call.
The phone interview was pretty standard: walk me through your resume and why DuPont.
I received an email letting me know that I was invited for an on-site interview.
The morning of the on-site interview, I had a scheduled non-interview breakfast with a current Field Engineer. It was informative and nice to have a relaxing breakfast. The rest of the day consisted of 3 one on one interviews, an information session, and a lunch with one of the interviewers.
The interviews are all standard SAR questions, Situation Action Response, but be warned there are a lot of questions from each interviewer.
Important note: make sure to not take the lunch lightly. You will be having lunch with one of your interviewers, make sure that you are sociable and keep conversation flowing without being nervous. On a side note, this will make the final interview much more comfortable.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you worked with a diverse group and how you were able to overcome your groups differences.
I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at DuPont (Richmond, VA) in Nov 2023
Interview
Contacted by HR for initial screening, 3 months later I was contacted again for an onsite interview. Flew down to find out the actual interviewer was not going to be attending the interview. There were two 1 hour interviews followed by an hour tour. Got asked questions about previous experiences and then some feedback about things an intern would never encounter. Radio silence for approximately 2 months after the interview, only to finally be contacted by HR with what seemed like another interview, then ultimately denied.
Overall, this location will not value your time or even have the decency to respond after a 3 day trip to interview with them. The whole process was super unorganized and unprofessional.

Question 1
There were 4 questions total but only two unique questions. Two questions were about a time you innovated and the other two were about a time you had to rush or make a quick decision.
