I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Genentech (South San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2010
Interview
The interview process was extremely thorough. At orientation it was a big joke to see who had gone through the most interviews to get hired. Lowest was 9 highest was 13. For me multiple phone interviews then 2 full days of on site interviews.

Question 1
Walk us through an emotionally charged situation that you and at least one critical stakeholder were involved in and that needed to be resolved to ensure business continuity.
What led to that situation? What was causing your counterpart's
emotions? What did you do to resolve it?
3 interviews, strung along for 6 weeks, no response. They kept calling me back for more interviews and did not end up giving me an offer and when I reached out for a status update I received no reply. Some transparency would have been nice.
