      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Jun 25, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Hudl

      Interview

I applied online for Hudl in Sydney, Australia. The application process was normal; I was required to answer a few question and provide a cover letter and a CV - fine. I was then asked to provide a short video describing myself and how I would be a good fit for the role. The entire application took several hours, primarily on the video message part, ensuring that I presented myself well and covered the correct content. As there was no mention of how long the video should go for nor what should be covered, further research was required to ensure the video was suitable; this process itself takes a lot of time and consideration to prepare something you feel gives you the best chance for the role. Having some very specific experience that I thought would make me suitable for the role, among other strengths I explained, I thought I would have at least made it in for a face to face. Unfortunately, after spending several hours preparing my application, I was told I was unsuccessful in my application within an hour of submitting it; when I asked for further information as to why, they informed me that they do not give feedback. For whatever reason they didn't want me to proceed, be it the position was already taken; they were market testing; or they didn't think I was a good fit, that's fine, but I don't think it's fair to request so much in an application and to be discarded so quickly without as much as the courtesy of a little feedback. At least don't ask for the video message if it doesn't make any difference in the outcome of your decision making. I did not have a good experience applying for Hudl, and the difference between what was asked for and the effort to review should be reviewed should they not wish to get negative reviews on this platform.
