      Technical Traineeship Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ING (Amsterdam) in Apr 2016

      Interview

I submitted an application online: general info + motivation type questions. I was contacted in a few days, saying that I was selected for the next level , i.e. capability tests. There were three tests (Logical, Numeric and Verbal) that had to be completed in 3 business days. The tests themselves were not difficult (15 or so minutes each), however, the time permitted per question was very low, sometimes humanly impossible. If your scores are above average, after the capability tests, there is a personality test and an interview with HR person and one of the current trainees. Then, if invited, there is an interview with the company management.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Logical test had sequences of different images or signs in a table (3X3), where one cell was marked with "?". You had many options below to choose from, to fill in the ? cell in the table based on the pattern you see in the table. Numerical tests had tables with information, and then 2-4 questions based on each table. For example, a table with companies and their average sales per time period. Then, the questions asked to do some simple calculation, for example to compare the sales of two companies at a given time period and say whose sales were less or more in %. Verbal test had short texts, 2-4 paragraphs and then some questions based on the text. Like what is the main point of the text, what is the synonym of this word in the text, etc. All questions were multiple choice.
