First I went through a phone screen given by a recruiter. When the hiring manager decided he wanted to interview me, I was given the opportunity to do a Skype interview rather than going through the hassle of coming 1000 miles for an in-person interview. The process was fairly painless, and the interviewers were in a room with good lighting/sound capabilities during the interview. The only con was that I was not notified with whom I'd be interviewing; I went in completely blind.
