I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at John Deere in Sep 2018
Interview
My sophomore year I talked with a recruiter on campus during a career fair. He was a very personable down to earth guy. I got a next day interview on campus with a different recruiter. He asked me a lot of STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) behavioral questions during the interview. I want to say we were limited on time to 1 hour. The questions were basic leadership and team cooperation questions. At the end he opened it up for discussion where I had the opportunity to ask a few questions. I asked for his business card and thanked him for his time during the interview afterwards.
Very quickly after in a few days I got notified I made it past the first round interview and would go onto a second round interview at their headquarters. They paid for a flight and hotel stay and took me and the rest of the interns out to their headquarters. The toured us through their headquarters, gave us a nice meal, and had 2 rounds of interviews. The interviews were similar to the first interview I had on campus. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Not terribly hard interview process, lots of STAR based questions and tell me about a time when questions. They were looking for problem solving skills and wanted to understand how I navigated challenges.
