I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Microsoft (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2022
Interview
Had a referral. Had an initial recruiter call and then a second (I think something got reassigned). Went through a virtual interview loop with four individuals: a Technical Specialist, a Principal Cloud Solution Architect, and two Directors (employee managers).

Question 1
Tell me about Azure solutions that you’ve worked on. Explain the architecture.
The onsite interview went really well overall. It consisted of four back-to-back 30-minute sessions, each with a different interviewer, which kept the energy moving at a good pace. The format was standard behavioral questions — think "tell me about a time when..." style prompts — so it was a comfortable structure to work through. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely warm and welcoming, which made the experience feel much less stressful than a typical interview loop. For an intern role, the process felt thorough but fair, and left me feeling positive about the team culture.
