The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in Sep 2011
Interview
Interview was held with a panel (3 people) and in addition to myself, my competitor for the position as well. We were interviewed together being asked the same questions ranging from personal to info about the company. Did not get the offer due to several reasons (completely my fault) however they were extremely respectful, and it was a good unique experience.
The interview process for finance roles is typically structured and competency-based, with a strong emphasis on technical knowledge and analytical ability. Candidates can expect case studies, scenario-based questions, and discussions around market awareness, financial modeling, or client relationship skills. Employers also look for clear communication, professionalism, and the ability to demonstrate ethical decision-making under pressure.
