I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Mount Sinai Health System (New York, NY) in Apr 2016
Interview
I received a phone interview first. They asked behavioral and technical questions. I then scheduled the in person interview. I met with the PI for a one on one interview in his office in the lab. He asked mainly technical questions then showed me around the lab. He asked me to leave an additional reference and I was told they were interviewing a few more people and I would hear back the following week. I wasn't contacted.

Interview
HR screening followed by a Zoom call with a PI. The call was relaxed and we just talked about my prior experience and what the lab was about. During the call, an in-person interview was scheduled. However, day of the interview, I emailed to reconfirm the time, but did not get a response. I called the PI to make sure, and was told that I'll be contacted later to reschedule. Then, the next day I received an automated email from HR saying that they would not be moving forward with me. It was unprofessional and I felt that they did not respect me as a candidate or my time, which was unfortunate considering I had a genuine interest in that lab.

Here's the revised message with the additional details:
---
I recently had a phone interview for a role that required significant technical expertise, which I am well-qualified for and have obtained through my experience. However, the job description was vague, and the interviewer lacked technical knowledge, making it impossible to discuss important aspects of the role. They had no idea about the specific research being conducted and were unable to provide specific examples. I was repeatedly told, "the hiring manager will know." In the end, they ghosted me, giving the impression that the interview was just a formality.
First, there was a meeting with the whole team (all of them asked questions), meeting with my supervisor (It was just me and her) and then a couple of interviews with Human Resources.
