I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pangea Money Transfer (Ciudad de Mexico) in Aug 2021
Interview
It was a response from several stages. The first was with the HR recruiter. The second was with a software engineer. This interview was technical. The third was with a product engineer. The third was with a QA engineer. The fourth was with the area director. I forgot to mention that there was an exercise in the hacker-like type of codification. At the beginning. To continue with the technical interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me about a program to show some texts on the console. In the Grecibe Hacker Rank it was more like a program structure and how you handle chains. I consider it easy to exercise. But there was another one about ordering a chain on the left and right, which was a little more difficult. And the typical questions you have asked, where you have worked, typical scenarios of system design, scenarios too. And behavior questions at the end of the interview.
I just had initial interview with basic questions and sent a home assignment to complete. I have completed it and send it back. But no any review happened, just got mail that not selected for the position.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Pangea Money Transfer (Chicago, IL)
Interview
The interview process had 4 steps: a technical screening with the engineering manager, a take-home project, a virtual interview panel with 2 technical rounds, then finally an on-site interview loop.
Some of the technical rounds were rapid fire pop-quizzes about SQL or OOP trivia, others were in-depth technical discussions around system design.
Overall, I think my overall candidate experience was pretty poor because Pangea was disorganized and the communication was terrible.
After I turned in the take-home project (which was non-trivial + lengthy), I didn't hear back for a week. I had to follow-up with the recruiter + engineers reviewing my work who told me that they missed the project submission. I would've expected some sort of proactive communication from Pangea about accidentally missing my assignment.
Ultimately, I understand that mistakes happen but I was ghosted again at the very end of the interview process. After not hearing anything for almost 2 weeks after completing the final round, I asked for an update on their decision and was given a generic rejection immediately after with no feedback.
This felt like a pattern of not respecting their candidates' time. I wouldn't recommend applying here.
