Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
I applied online. I interviewed at Performance Food Group (New York, NY) in Oct 2023
Over the phone screening interview for a remote position. Interviewer had a pleasant demeanor. Described the role and asked about my experience. During the interview it became pretty obvious that this role was created because of some prior poor staffing and bad management decisions. The new role was created to combine the work that two staffers no longer employed into one role.
- Tell me about yourself and your experience.

Very pointless and the guy there that does the interviews is racist, tried to pretend he had other interviews but in all reality he just didn’t want to give a black woman a chance to work there .
- Just talked about the position mostly

Phone Interview first then a formal interview in office where you get a hands-on experience on the position. Coffee also offered and took a tour of the facility. Overall it was a decent interview process.

PFG uses and Application Tracking System, or ATS, to both scan applications/resumes. Additionally, I received a text to my cell phone from paradox.ai which asked me several basic questions about the role (legal status, prior work, ability, salary). I had to go to their job posting page to find out I was rejected on my candidate dashboard. Shame on them 1) for not letting me know and keeping me thinking I was in the running and 2) for allowing a computer to make a human's decision.

- Why do you want to work for PFG?

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Performance Food Group in Feb 2023
The interview process was very thorough, but the interviewers made it a very comfortable environment. You showed up in a room with two members of the department and answered the questions they asked. Many of the questions were open ended.
- What separates yourself from other candidates?

Easy and straight to the point process, flexible timing and very accommodating for scheduling interviews. I enjoyed getting to know the company and what they do on a daily basis. Was impressed to learn of their huge market share in the Tri-state area as well as the vast SKUs they carry in many segments on the industry.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Richmond, VA
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Performance Food Group (Richmond, VA) in Nov 2022
Feedback: The interviews with the Talent Acquisition Specialist & Hiring Managers were professional and felt genuine. I did not have that same experience with the Sr. Manager. The interviews with the Talent Acquisition Specialist & Hiring Managers were conducted via telephone/audio only conference and the interview with Sr. Manager was done via video conference. Though I could not see the Talent Acquisition Specialist or Hiring Managers, I could tell that they were smiling (at times laughing) and could connect with people. The Sr. Manager did not smile once and talked in a robotic, monotonous voice. I’m sure he’s a fantastic employee who works hard, but did not come off as affable or pleasant. Based off previous reviews for this position, it did not seem like an enjoyable position and one that was micromanaged.
- Nothing asked about the company itself, only asked about past job experience.
