    Pros

If you don’t like your family this job is for you cause you won’t be seeing them often. We work 5 14hr shifts and if they can they’ll make you work a 16 once a week. Off on Sunday and a random weekday. Drivers don’t last long so if you don’t mind being abused you’ll work your way up the totem pole rather quickly. Less than a year to get an assigned route and tractor. Routing seems know what they’re doing. There’s a 1.5 supervisors that know what they’re doing. Money. The only reason to work here is if you need money. Will easily gross 4K biweekly.

    Cons

Benefits suck. Management is always changing. Supervisors are out to get you. Safety guy is a joke. There is a camera watching you drive. Safety guy is literally just waiting to write someone up. He must have some sort of write up quota to meet. 2 supervisors that suck.

    Advice to Management

Want to keep new drivers? Stop changing their schedule. Find David Jacobs a new job. Tell the night supervisor to cool it with the attitude. Seriously though, just let your drivers do their job.

    Pros

    Wednesday off is a plus

    Cons

Going up and down that ramp in rain sleet and snow is just hell with not good pay and not good help

    Advice to Management

No one should get paid less than $1,500 a week doing this type of work. Your pay should not go up and down every 6 months depending on what route you get that makes no sense at all.

    Pros

Great people. Upper management is on task and pointing this DC in the right direction. Decent pay and steady hours.

    Cons

Hours can be long. Salary means you pick up the slack. Infighting between depts cause by managers mentality.

    Advice to Management

To change the culture you have to change the leaders. Either their POV or their person. Status quo mindset is dangerous.

I worked at Performance Food Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers. Sick pay, personal days & 2 weeks of vacation for first 4 years. Vacation time goes up after 4 years. Base pay is already nice and there’s incentive pay on top of that. Giving you potential to earn an extra $200-$1000 a check depending on hours and quality.

    Cons

Hours can be weird. Work week starts on sunday night. Start time is at 5:30pm (except Sunday)and depending on case count that night you could be done by 9pm or may have to stay until 5am. Just depends. Management seems to not care too much when it comes to warehouse workers. They are more concerned about truck drivers wants and needs. You will work all holidays (except thanksgiving) if they fall through the work week.

    Advice to Management

Have more verbal appreciation for order selectors. They work hard, including on holidays when office staff and other most of the time have off.

I worked at Performance Food Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The co-workers and the pay after you’ve been then after 10+ years.

    Cons

Benefits are crazy expensive, management will stab you in the back to benefit themselves and they’ll strong arm you into working late/weekends even if you tell them you got plans. Changes your work schedule without even asking you. Makes you sign paperwork even if you’re not in the wrong and if you don’t they’ll harass you in hopes you quit or will look for other ways to fire you. They have favorites, bail them out when they’re in jail, give them multiple chances to keep their jobs but will threaten and fire the good workers. Can’t imagine why there’s a 70% turnover rate

    Advice to Management

    Fire and rehire most management
