I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at REI (McLean, VA) in May 2016
Interview
Originally applied for cashier position, but they needed sales specialists on the floor more and asked if I was open to that position instead. Met with the hiring manager as well as the department manager and sales lead for the department they needed sales-people for. Asked about my sales experience, as well as personal expertise in various outdoor activities and how comfortable I would feel selling those products.

Question 1
Show us how you would sell this particular item (ex. trekking poles)
Pretty quick and simple interview process for such a big company. Everyone seemed nice that I spoke to over the phone but for the most part the interview was all online. Just answering questions and recording your answers.

I did an online interview first. I filmed myself answering a few questions. They called me in a few weeks later for an in person interview. Very standard interview questions, got hired on the spot
