    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Santa Cruz Biotechnology (Santa Cruz, CA) in August 2015.

    Interview

The manager essentially just talked at me for an hour. He asked a few standard questions. It was underwhelming and felt very novice. The interview seemed to be focused on his analogy of building a wall and which role you would see yourself playing in that process. The idea being that there are those who focus on the short term and those who focus on the result, basically eluding to the fact that the job is repetitive and mind numbing.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Santa Cruz Biotechnology (Dallas, TX).

    Interview

4 total interviews, the first two being phone interviews, the third a skype with two interviewers, and the fourth was in person. Too long of a process that had repetitive behavioral questions by different people. They didnt seem to have objective reasoning for their different interviews, except to keep asking random questions. The in person interview had a case study for helping a client with troubled Western Blots.

    Interview Questions

    • Tell me about a time you faced a challenge, how did you handle it, and what was the outcome?
Tell me what is an antibody.

    Interview

Submitted resume through email, got a phone interview two weeks later, followed by an in person interview with manager and two others. Two weeks later I got an offer and accepted. Interview

I applied for this position online. There was an initial phone screening in which I spoke with the manager of the lab I applied to. We then scheduled an on-site interview. I interviewed with that manager as well as a manager of another department. Lastly, there was a group interview with some of the employees who later were my coworkers. The interview was fairly friendly and I was asked about previous experience and basic skills and techniques related to the field.
