I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (Waldorf, MD) in Feb 2019
Interview
The hiring process was pretty simple for me. I’ve did the application online then 2 days later I got an email from the HR to confirm my interview. The HR was pretty consistent with his emails. If you ask him a question, he’ll reply in about 20 minutes. 3 days later I had my interview with Softlines Store Manager. The interview process was pretty simple and I got hired on the same day. 3 hours later, I got a congratulations email with my job offer and benefits, Then the HR sent me another email telling me to print out the Drug Consent Agreement Forma and go to Sears to hand the manager it. The next day, I got an email saying that I had to go to take my Drug Screening Test. So I did that, and about 5 hours later, I got the onboarding information. The onboarding information had stuff like the W-4 Form and your bank account information, it was ALL online! The process is about a hour long. 5 days later the HR emailed me asking when I could come in for my orientation so I scheduled that. The next day, I had to do the orientation on the computer. All I had to do was watch a couple of videos and play a skills games. It took about 2 hours to complete. Now I either have my training 1-2 days from now!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (New Brunswick, NJ) in Jun 2015
Interview
Applied online and was called within a week. Went to one interview where I was asked the usual questions pertaining to my resume. Things like "Name an instance outside of work where you took initiative to make things better" and "Why did you choose this company". Did it mostly for the money so I could have a little extra during school. Was offered the job at the interview then had to wait a few days for a background check and then had to take a drug test which took another few days. After that I had a two days of orientation, one at a different store with other new employees to get me more acquainted with the company and duties and then one at my store to get me acquainted with what I'd be doing.
