Interview

Fairly straight forward. Very, very easy to schedule an interview. It's all done on calendly which makes life so easy. In terms of the process itself. It was very simple and easy. I had a very good impression of the company until I got to stage 2. I found the interviewer very cold and standoffish, and confrontational. Even when I asked basic questions about the company, I was met with cold and dismissive undertones. It was to the point where I asked my 3rd question that I told the interviewer that I am no longer interested in the position. Such a shame, I really bought into the culture of the business but how people carry themselves in interviews is so important. It’s a telling sign of what you can expect working here.

Interview

The process was fairly straightforward. Had a conversation with the recruiter and the second round was a case study. I submitted the case study and they came back with feedback that it was not elaborated enough. I feel that they are trying to get the work done with candidates. If you are not paying someone, I don't think you should expect them to be doing an 8-hour job. I found the process very odd.

What’s the best way to have a lack of compensation and incentive conversation in your department? I went above and beyond for years doing extra work, organizations etc and nothing has been reflected in pay. I thought my 5 year was going to finally show something but it did not. I’ve inquired about pay but it’s gotten nowhere.

Interview

Apply if you do not have any self-respect! To be honest with you all, I read all the negative feedback here and I thought that it was normal to see some candidates complaining, especially if they are refused. - First call with someone from HR in a day after applying via LinkedIn. It was very informative and she replied all of my questions. ✅ - Second call with the team manager that seemed very nice and friendly. Talked about each other's development habits and environments. She was convinced to invite me to take the programming challenge. ✅ - Following this call, I have not heard from them (that should have been a red flag). But I tried my chance and sent an email indicating that I was ready to take the challenge. - Next day: I received the invitation and started to work on it. - I spent several hours, especially during the weekend and I was ready to ship it! While sending, I insisted them to give me feedback as I was afraid that they ghosted some candidates since it is written by several candidates here. - They had said that it would take 5 working days to reply. After a week, I sent a friendly reminder to receive feedback from the team. One of the HR guys said that he would get back to me soon. - Several days after a Friday night I received a generic refusal email without any word of feedback. I might get rejected and I did several times throughout my career. It is totally OK!! I demanded them to give me a technical feedback at least following a tech task but I do not think that they are that much respectful. This is the first time I have seen such an unprofessional hiring process and feel mistreated. So if you are looking for something serious for your career, avoid even having a 15 mins call. You might do something more meaningful :) Edit: I have received a little bit of feedback 11 days after. I have been basically rejected for the way I designed the model class and using little outdated libraries such as LiveData instead of Kotlin Flows while general arch and UI was met the brief well with few superfluous extras. I have stated that I worked with LiveData since it is part of my current day projects and for this task, it would be more honest to show what I have been currently doing.

Interview

6 interviews, ended up taking 6 hours. Two of the interviewers were significantly late to the interview (20+ minutes), one never showed up and the interview had to be rescheduled with someone else. They require free labor in the form of "case studies", each of which was about an hour long and was then discussed for half an hour with an interviewer. After wasting more than 6 hours of my time (let's not forget all that waiting time for people who did not show up!) they let me know that they were going to continue the process with other candidates. By then, one of the many interviewers had let me know that they did not really have a significant candidate pool. When I requested feedback they let me know two weeks later that the reason they did not offer me the position was that after spending all of my time without any compensation they had decided to change the position itself.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sendwave in Aug 2022

Interview

Interview process was a 30 minute recruiter call, 30 minute technical screen, take home assessment, 1 hour pair programming that extends the technical assessment, and a 45 minute values interview. Throughout the entire process, it seemed like the company didn't really care about me as a candidate. A week would go by without any follow up, yet when I'd follow up I'd move to the next round. One person didn't even show up to one of my scheduled interviews and they never reached out or apologized. Someone didn't even seem prepared for one of the interviews. No one I interviewed with seemed excited about it. Honestly, if I had gotten an offer, I probably wouldn't have taken it. You don't even know what team you'll be on or who your manager will be throughout the interview process. All things said, it was a pretty low key and easy interview process. They said the technical assessment would take no more than 2 hours and they were right.

Interview

They sent a take home project and asked to spend not more than 4 hours on it. I submitted the project and was shocked with the kind of response they had. They said that my UI had 1-2 bugs thats why they are moving forward with another candidate. They dont have nothing to do with the coding architecture and how many validations were already in place. They had to reject so they responded that the app had 1-2 bugs. I dont know if they really even looked at the codebase. My suggestion is stop wasting candidate’s time. They put their effort and time and you dont even have time to look at what they did.

Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sendwave (Berlin)

Interview

The interviews were ok and easy. They gave a take home test. They asked to complete the test in max 4-5 hours. Which in no way was possible. I wrote a very extensible and robust solution. But they rejected me because I didn't give the UI more time and fix some UI bugs and that I didn't show exact errors. Felt to me like they are more concerned about the overall UI rather than the actual project you submit to them.

I applied online. I interviewed at Sendwave in Jul 2022

Interview

The interview was scheduled for only 30 mins and the interviewer arrived 5 mins late and started interview on an abrupt note without even an apology. There were no questions about who I am, what’s my background or experience. She jumped straight asking me to describe one project where I was involved end to end. Throughout the call the interviewer turned off her video which I felt quite absurd, especially when interviewing for a senior position. It seemed the interviewer came with a premeditated mind. The interview per se is not at all challenging as the questions were very basic. The next day I received a rejection email without any feedback whatsoever. The whole process appeared very unusual and arbitrary. I would not have proceeded further even if the decision was positive as I have got the sense of people and the culture.

The process requires a cover letter to be written. It's 2022. Also, no contact for a month and a generic rejection response. I do not recommend this company. Waste of time.

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Sendwave (Boston, MA) in Jun 2022

Interview

''They expect all rounder candidates but neither spend time on evaluating developers work nor feel responsible to give true feedback '' I had initial conversations with the HR and Engineering manager, then I was asked to work on 'take a home test'. I did complete the project and fulfilled all the guidelines and evaluation cretiriea mentioned in the test. I submitted the project and was shocked with the kind of response they had. They got to me after weeks of waiting and the response was rejection with the feedback as 'UI error and use of some X library'. The truth is the library mentioned was not even used in my code base nor there were any UI errors in standard case scenarios. I did rebuttal them back about the response with all the UI video proofs and screenshots but they never even reply me back with any justifying answers. We, as a candidate, take a lot of effort building the whole project from the scratch and which is for sure not a 4-5 hours of work. I would have appreciated If someone would have seriously reviewed the code and that too for a Senior position and after patiently waiting for weeks. I wish someone would have put in sometime and would have checked the actual code in which I have put in all the efforts as expected according to the problem statement.
