So you interview for a posted position. The feedback is very positive. Later you are told that the job parameters have changed and you are no longer being considered. The parameters involve technology that you know, but weren't asked about during your interview. One might wonder why didn't they just ask you if you knew about the new technology they were considering moving to. It was a trivial change that shouldn't have affected your moving forward in the interview process. Especially since the current technology still needed to be supported. So what really happened? What exactly was it that got in the way of your equal opportunity? Who is the real loser here? Is your premature rejection a curse, or a blessing, perhaps an unintended nudge to steer you towards a better opportunity?
