It was a very casual interview, mainly focusing on previous coaching or teaching experience, as well as sports experience. If you don't have previous coaching experience (I didn't), don't worry about it, I was asked questions about my personal experiences with good and bad coaches. They just want to make sure that you know the basics of coaching and sports and that you'd be a good fit for working with kids.
- Who was the best coach you ever had, and why were they the best?

Met at Starbucks, discussed the position, discussed the pay, discussed my qualifications, discussed what was expected from me if I was offered this position, and was asked situational type questions. Very casual and low key. Questions were not difficult. Great experience and I enjoyed working for Skyhawks Sports. Flexible hours. Nice coaches. Great experience if you'd like to pursue a career in the education, recreation, sports, or child care industry.

Had a quick phone interview for a coaching job. The person ask you basic questions about yourself. You just have to prove that you can coach specific sports and can handle working with children. They check to see if you have any coaching experience or have played the sport at a varsity level. If they like you, you get an offer immediately.
- Have you coached or played a specific sport at a varsity level?

They rang me up and asked me about my experience working with kids, working with and playing sports, my current employment status (was student at the time), etc. It was a few years ago, so I don't remember specifics, but the questions were fairly simple. I was then invited to come to a group-interview setting. All the remaining candidates were there (many of us) and we were essentially put through an hour of what a typical camp would look like. They split us into groups, then asked us to lead/explain a game as if we were coaching a group of children. Was pretty simple since I had a lot of drills from playing to draw from.
- Explain a basketball skill or technique to your small group as if you were coaching a group of campers.

Interview started with a phone call from a very friendly lady inorder to just gather details and make sure you can hold a conversation. This then lead to an invitation to a group interview at a specific location. At this location you first sat down with the area director and had a face to face interview. This was fallowed by the group interview where you showed your coaching ability on the fellow coaches trying out to show your abilities. The job offer followed this step a few weeks later.
- Tell me a joke that would make an 8 year old kid laugh.

We were required to go to a 3 hour session as a local gym with other applicants, where we mingled and interacted with current employees/coaches. Fairly basic questions and a generally positive environment. The company just wanted to make sure that most of the applicants were personable and individuals with good attitudes. Being comfortable around large groups and speaking proactively are good skills for this interview process.
- Tell us a joke that would be appropriate for children.
