      Salesforce Developer Interview

      Nov 27, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Scottsdale, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (Scottsdale, AZ)

      Interview

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I was contacted by a recruiter and had an informal meeting with her over coffee, and then was asked to come into the office to talk with the developer team manager. The time I spent with him was relaxed and he asked questions about my developer background, as well as other questions that pertained to fitting into the existing environment. Several weeks after this in-person interview, I was sent a project to complete for the technical portion of the interview. The project was fairly short, and tailored to the position for which I was applying. I received feedback on the project a week or so after I turned it in, and consequently was offered a job. Throughout the entire interview process, the recruiter was in contact with me and was available to answer any questions or concerns I had.

      Interview

They made me come into the office several times to interview and then delayed several months before sending an offer. I was employed by then. I felt my time had been wasted. I made it clear I was actively looking and interviewing for jobs.

      No offer

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (New York, NY) in Jun 2022

      Interview

The hiring process is extremely long and disorganized, but the recruiter is kind and understanding. Overall, the worst part of the process is the 2-4 people you have to speak with after your technical interviews. Everything about the interview experience goes downhill after whiteboarding, and it's largely because you talk to a bunch of unenthused, lifeless execs and directors who seem bored or uninformed about the state of things. While I imagine working at Slalom with peers might be great, some of the management and red tape is for sure a bullet to dodge. They decided not to make an offer because I showed up 6 minutes late for an interview. That was the reason given, and it was seemingly 1 extremely unpleasant person out of the 7 people I talked to who decided to say no after wasting 9 weeks of my time. I am currently a consultant with a day job where I have responsibilities to actual clients. I consider their lack of understanding of this fact a pretty big red flag, and I'm not disappointed that I didn't get an offer. Seems like a great company, but they definitely want medium-quality talent, and are very concerned with traditional business appearances. But that's big corporate for you.

      Question 1

See the PD1 study guides, lol. The whiteboarding was more interesting and challenging, but the interview process was so long I can't recall much.
