3 rounds of interviews. Was pretty clear nobody I talked to had talked to each other about me. They had multiple people in job roles that seemed to be the same with different titles. When I tried to sort out what was what the answers were... not great. Then they ghosted me. Pretty lame.
- They asked the basic stuff. Experience, etc.

Fantastic! No complaints! Very open conversation and lovely people. All in all a bit long but good to see they want to bring in the right people which is a very good thing.
- What is it about gaming that attracts you to the industry and us here at Splash

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Splash Damage in Aug 2022
Recruiters were on point with replying and keeping me in the loop without long periods of silence. They messaged me about a job, we jumped on a call within an hour, I was in next interview within 3 days, had an in-person meeting at an event we were all at after that, all came together pretty smoothly in the end.
- Do you feel you are experienced and authoritative enough to speak to not just creative, but to keep Brand, Marketing, Comms and Community un-silo'd and communicating with one another to release cohesive campaigns that are support by dev?

I applied online. I interviewed at Splash Damage (London, England)
There were some general C++ questions, questions about my hopes and interests, a technical interview and then an interview with the head of UI and some team members. Everyone was nice throughout and it was overall a smooth process.
- Have you worked in a team before and what was it? Biggest project you have worked on? Project you are most proud of? What games you play? C++ related questions.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Splash Damage
First phase is a one-hour interview with two senior tech designers. Second phase is an unreal tech and design test. The test asks you to make a playable game, which requires a lot of work, approximately 4 days of work.
- Design a new feature for an existing game

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Splash Damage (London, England) in Jan 2022
A demoralising, drawn out process (2-3 months from the start of interviewing) that worked to do nothing more than make me reconsider my decision to work within the games industry altogether. Many delays between interviews with little consideration of the impact on candidates and sparse follow up from anyone on the team, leaving candidates in the dark for long periods of time. During interviews themselves, the tone, at times felt condescending and there were also a number of inconsistencies / contradictions mentioned in the discussions which also served as a red flag.
- Standard agile/process related questions.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Splash Damage (London, England) in Jul 2021
There were 3 people interviewing me. Two artists and an art director (who was meant to mostly observe). Art Director ended up pushing quite hard on one topic about learning software at home that was required for work. He wasn't happy that I disagreed with him.
- If we needed you to learn a new piece of software would you be happy to learn it in your own time?
