I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Universal Orlando Resort (Orlando, FL) in Aug 2019
Interview
Found out about the position through manager’s LinkedIn post and was able to email resume/portfolio directly. Definitely not the usual way of doing it but it got me the interview! I then spoke to a HR representative to talk about the position and my back ground, then had the in-person interview the next day.
Interview went really well (so I thought) but it was cut off by running out of time, so the end of it was pretty rushed. I was asked to send HR a reference and was told I’d hear back by the end of the following week.
Waited till that time but got no answer. Followed up with HR rep to see how the process was going and just to make sure the got my reference, transcript, etc. Was told they had one more interview scheduled the next week then there would be an update at the end of said week.
Followed up at the end of the NEXT week again and this time it was radio silence. I waited 3 weeks just to be ghosted? Not exactly a cute look, especially when it’s just an intern position. I feel like if I truly was not in the running anymore, they could have let me know the first time I followed up.
Advice for future applicants: be prepared to wait forever or just be ignored. The position sounded amazing but such a shame that they can’t be organized enough to give a simple yes or no.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Universal Orlando Resort in Nov 2017
Interview
I was first contacted by HR. They asked a few questions about my background and how it relates to the internship. I was then asked to schedule an in person interview. Here I met with the hiring team and was asked about my background, my career path, and why Universal. After about two weeks I was contacted and offered a position!
