I applied online, got an email saying to come in for an interview at X date/time. Signed in with security, waited a few minutes, filled out a little paperwork, and was called in for an interview fairly quickly.
The woman that interviewed me was very nice and friendly. Made me feel very comfortable. She gave off the impression that she WANTED to help me get a job. She's really quite good at her job. It was a very pleasant experience.
After some conversation and questions, she offered me a position and I accepted it. She sent me to someone else to do a little more paper work, and that was that. Very good experience all around.
The HR department, and upper management in general do not get enough credit for how great they are at their jobs.
