I interviewed at Webtrends (Portland, OR) in Mar 2012

Interview

I met with Webtrends recruiters at a Career Fair on my college campus and applied to a job there. After a screening interview followed by a few more in-depth phone interviews I finally made it in for an onsite interview. It was slightly disorganized, but the people I interviewed with were wonderful. My only complaint was the fact that it took around a month to hear back with their final decision after the onsite interview, though they did keep me updated throughout that time period.

Interview Questions
  • I was asked a pretty straight forward brain teaser during my last phone interview, which they said they don't normally do, but because I put that I was a logical problem solver on my resume they couldn't resist the opportunity to. It was the following "There are 20 different socks of two types in a drawer in a completely dark room. What is the minimum number of socks you should grab to ensure you have a matching pair?"

Office Administrator

I have my 1st in person interview soon. Besides doing my homework on the company and position and making sure I look professional what else do I need? It is for a large, professional insurance company. I used to print a copy of my resume on a nice, thicker paper as well as a list of references and put them in a folder and leave it with the interviewer. Is this dumb? Everything is electronic now and I am worried about getting the position at all and I don't want to come off as old fashioned.

So she has been emailing me about open positions and checking in provided a referral to a position in an adjacent department and I have interviewed, they went ahead and scheduled

Is it rude to respond to recruiters with the suggested “no thanks” LinkedIn message?
