I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at WestRock (West Lafayette, IN) in Jan 2017
Interview
The interview process was unique since I found out about WestRock through one of my college courses. I had emailed the campus recruiter, who then set me up for an interview. I interviewed on campus and have yet to hear back from them even though they said it would be up to 2-3 weeks. It has been over a month and I have not heard back yet.
Initial phone screen with recruiter, followed by on-site panel interview with four members of leadership; followed by two more one-on-one interviews via Teams. All questions were behavioral based (i.e., describe a situation in which you were able to use persuasion to successfully convince someone to see things your way).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your relationship with your previous manager: How was it productive? How could it have been improved?
Fairly laid back, but structured onsite interview with multiple phases and a plant tour. I would not describe the questions as behavior based, but used a similar approach to the STAR method - situation, task, action and result.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a difficult situation you had to personally had. Describe situation, tasks, actions and result.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WestRock (Allegan, MI) in Jan 2018
Interview
The interview process was lengthy with many different people. That is typical nowadays. I declined the offer because through the process they accepted my minimum base requirements and title. At the end they changed the title and offered less than my minimum which was only $2000 more. They would not budge on it either no negotiation.
