Position Overview
Lux Consulting Group, Inc. (Lux) is seeking a part-time Grant Review & Peer Review Project Manager to support federal grant-making clients in the planning, execution, and delivery of grant application review processes.
This role provides operational leadership across the full grant review lifecycle, with emphasis on execution, team coordination, and client delivery. This position is client-facing and responsible for managing grant review activities across all phases, including concept, development, implementation, and closeout, while ensuring quality, compliance, and on-time delivery of project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Grant Review Management
- Direct and support federal grant application review processes across multiple projects
- Manage project lifecycle activities including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Monitor workflows, critical paths, and overlapping competition timelines
- Ensure all deliverables meet client requirements, compliance standards, and quality expectations
2. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and coordinate grant review teams, including peer review staff and support personnel
- Delegate assignments, monitor performance, and provide task-specific training
- Support recruitment and onboarding of peer reviewers and project staff
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including PMO, HR, IT, Finance, and BD to ensure project success
3. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as primary or supporting point of contact for assigned projects
- Engage clients in a consultative, solutions-oriented manner to support long-term outcomes
- Facilitate communication across stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and satisfaction
4. Operational Execution & Logistics
- Oversee logistical components including:
- Peer reviewer recruitment and coordination
- Vendor coordination (e.g., hotels, meeting logistics)
- Review and approval of payments and reimbursements
- Provide help desk–style support to reviewers and clients as needed
- Ensure smooth execution of both virtual and in-person review processes
5. Systems, Data & Process Improvement
- Support development and management of:
- Grant review databases
- Review platforms/websites
- Quality assurance procedures and documentation
- Analyze grants management systems to define project scope and user requirements
- Drive process improvements through data management and systems integration
6. Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Perform pre-release testing to ensure compliance with application requirements
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all review outputs
- Develop and deliver weekly, monthly, and final reports
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation, checklists, and training materials
7. Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Conduct formal and informal training sessions for staff, reviewers, and clients
- Provide cross-training and functional documentation for internal systems
- Support onboarding of new team members and continuous capability development
8. Budget & Resource Management
- Support management of project budgets, labor allocations, and resource planning
- Track project performance against budget and timelines
- Contribute to proposal development, including narratives and budget inputs
Scope Limitations (Explicit)

- Serve as the service area lead for Grants & Other Application Review
- Own enterprise-level strategy or portfolio oversight for the service line

Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Government, or related field
Experience
- Significant experience in:
- Federal grants management and/or peer review operations
- Project management and multi-project coordination
Technical / Functional Skills
- Strong knowledge of federal grant review processes and systems
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Lead teams and manage competing priorities
- Deliver high-quality, client-facing work
- Technical proficiency:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Project management tools (e.g., Asana, MS Project or similar)
Certifications (Preferred)
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred

Pay: $48.53 - $59.32 per hour
