    Pros

    Exposure to different clients in different industries.

    Cons

    There are at times a lot of unpaid down time between client assignments.

    Advice to Management

    Do not over hire new consultants just to fill a one-time client need. Once that client assignment ends, you are left with these "new" consultants who are now competing with more senior consultants (who have been with the company for a long time) for new assignments.

    I applied through an employee referral. The process took a week. I interviewed at RGP (New York, NY).

    Interview

    RGP interview is easy. More of a sales pitch to the applicant going over the structure of the company, the benefits package, and how the client engagements work.
    Client interviews are more difficult. You are presented to potential clients and meet the team management. They will ask very specific and technical questions to determine if you will be a good fit. These interviews can be intimidating so do your homework. Took me three times before a client decided to bring me on for an engagement.

    • List of transactions- debit or credit? What is the typical life cycle of a private equity fund? What do you know about system XXX? How would you improve our processes? What projects have you worked on? What do you know about this type of report? Tell me your experience with XXX.
