I worked at RGP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting assignments, flexible work hours, supportive local leaders. The team I worked with was first rate and my experience in the AZ market was outstanding.

    Cons

None that I have experienced. However, I do think the consistency between RGP markets varies more than it should at both the leadership and consultant levels.

    Advice to Management

RGP has a lot of opportunity to grow its business and could be a name brand in Corporate America. Make strategic investments in marketing, recruiting, client development and support teams. Shareholders will reward those investments in the long run. Build the brand - they will come!

I have been working at RGP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong leaders, with strategic minds and people-centric work styles. Smart and collaborative team members. Continual and tangible improvements occurring regularly to drive growth of the people and the business. This is a point in my career and the heritage of RGP that I’ll remember forever, as it’s not often you get to be a part of this much collective focus, drive and commitment to outcomes.

    Cons

Some things just take time to realize the value of.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be open and communicative with all employees.

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at RGP full-time

    Pros

Long engagements once you prove yourself to the client.

    Cons

No business development in Seattle, Sacramento, and other markets. No one actively working to bring in new clients and new opportunities. Company seems stagnant and not growing. Huge variation in hourly rates for similar positions.

    Advice to Management

What is your brand? You advertise yourself as a consulting firm, yet act like a staffing agency. You are not structured like a consulting firm, with a tier of consultants at progressively increasing levels of pay and titles. What was your intention when you split off from Deloitte? By now (17 years since the split), you should have developed your own global, highly recognized brand, but that didn't happen. Nobody knows what RGP is, nor have they ever heard of Resources Global Professionals. Cut your losses and fold.

"Pretty Good Employer if you understand risk in between jobs"

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at RGP full-time

    Pros

RGP has a good sales force so consulting opportunities are plentiful. They have good name recognition with fortune 500 companies so some fairly high level opportunities arise. If you can work overtime then you can make good money. Trick is to finding a client who is not price sensitive. I think this is a great place in between jobs.

    Cons

Con is you have to interview for each assignment and you do not get paid in between assignments. Sales person for RGP will not care if you get the gig. they just want to put a qualified person in the job. So if 2 or 3 of you are interviewing do not think RGP sales person will look out for your individually. They want to make client happy and that is who they owe allegiance to.

Company is not growing much. They have a lot of competition and it is almost impossible to differentiate themselves.

I have been working at RGP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can work a variety of projects. Clients generally give a good amount of freedom to make a difference. Can stay away from corporate politics.

    Cons

Do not get paid if not on an engagement. Network is limited in finding new engagement. Do not have visibility of opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Need to make more commitment to proven employees. It is the correct way to attract and retain talent. Company should not cut ties with longer term employees due to RGP's own inability to find engagements.

    Pros

Strong culture that encourages continuous learning, enthusiasm, integrity, accountability, focus, loyalty and collaboration. The senior leadership team is in touch and committed to the growth of the organization. Great business model; our Consultants are focused on agility, practicality, and partnership. They are continuously praised by our clients for the impact they bring. A fun place to work!

    Cons

Technology is a bit outdated - but is in the process of being updated/upgraded. Kudos to our leadership for making this investment in our future.

I have been working at RGP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-benefits are top notch for consultants witth health, flex spending (transit medical parking), dental, vision, 401k, etc. Health is paid for up to around 80% ppo premiums. I’m guestimating based upon my mthly cost and what I know on type plan I have
-flexibility and ability to choose projects wihout consequences, the team doesnt force any assignment.
-large and small companies have long history with clients and makes it easier when going onsite
-Supporting team on assignment and off are excellent- you’ll have a champion to lead you theough opportunities and be your go-to person to sell you to client directors with open projects
    -seasonal work socials
    -friendly and happy backoffice support
-pay is higher than average (current rate is significantly higher than big 4 consultants)

    Cons

-you can be benched for awhile if you dont have a strong background with more than just one skill. this is not paid but you get benefits for three mths without any project
-crossing groups is non existent so if you want to be project or interim , you wont get opportunities in It mgmt consulting, etc
-Weak presence in strategy , finance transformations, or more than typical project/interim

    Advice to Management

Try to align consultants with opportunity in other depts. Develop program for bench timeframes with pay or fund to match contributions that employees put aside for bench time frames. training on entire company strategies and more partnering nationally.

    Pros

Great helping clients.. met some awesome coworkers ... able to create own marketing plans... as long as sales high had a lot of freedom

    Cons

They don’t pay market.. okay salary but commissions go into a pool.. management takes a big cut.. no matter how many projects you sell bonus never changed much from year to year.. kept long term directors too long.. management played favorites..
