I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The location is great. I like the work culture respecting each other. Salary is decent. It is a engineering company.

    Cons

No bonus. There are not many young people in engineering. The company size is relatively small with small number of employees.

I worked at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to work for gaining on the job experience.
Everyone starts with 2 paid personal holidays, 5 company holidays, up to 3 weeks PTO after one full year and up to 4 weeks after 5 years.
Health insurance package is competitive for families.
    401k package is great.

    Cons

This company changes senior management frequently which creates a high stress environment.
Management encourages 50 hour work weeks for exempt employees.
Employee training and development programs do not exist.
There is very little opportunity for advancement.
The "Employee Recognition Program" is not weighted fairly for all employees which resulted in many of my deserving co-workers not being recognized for their high value contributions.
Most departments are overworked and understaffed.
Pay raises in service, sales and finance hover at 1.5-3.0% annually.
There is no company profit sharing.

    Advice to Management

Try to find big ways to invest in your employees and foster more work-life balance initiatives and promote from within.

I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Excellent Pay. Health insurance is VERY low cost to the employees. Yes the hours can be long at times but the company is flexible with a lot of time off. I have never missed a family function because I had to work. Ample opportunities for growth. Many front-line workers have been promoted into upper level positions over the years. These opportunities are not just handed out. They are earned. Work hard, contribute, and avoid the entitlement mentality; you will be successful. You get out of it what you put in.

    Cons

Company can be reactionary which is driven by the markets we serve. Management demands agility however has instituted bureaucratic systems virtually guaranteeing we can not be. Deadlines are often unrealistic.

As with most companies there are mixed reviews. AE has it's problems but all companies do. Despite the negative reviews, most employees seem to want to stay with AE. Many who leave try to come back. Overall a great place to work!

    Advice to Management

Keep up to good work. The focus on employees has improved dramatically in recent years.

I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Advanced Energy is a great company focused on growth, both in the market and for employees. There are a lot of intelligent, hard-working employees that help drive the company forward.

    Cons

It can be a fast paced environment, and you have to be open to changing priorities (which is both a pro and a con).

    Advice to Management

    Keep recognizing good employees.

I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is decent depending on the department you work in. The people are helpful and nice. Everyone wants to do a good job.

    Cons

There is a culture of fear and mistakes are not tolerated, which is not the impression during the interview stage. The pay program is not competitive. In this day and age who has heard of a company not offering a bonus?!

    Advice to Management

Start listening to employees instead of dictating.

    Pros

None at this point in time.

    Cons

Too much hiring of unqualified people just because someone "knows" someone. For example, hiring a person who has a degree in FASHION!! for an engineering position and then moving them into a development position when they fail miserably at the engineering position. This person is neither qualified nor competent.and brings the level of accomplishment and success down to zero. Check the facts and backgrounds of new hires before bringing someone on board just because they are "acquainted" with someone.

I have been working at Advanced Energy full-time

    Pros

Terrific, knowledgeable, supportive employees in a positive atmosphere. Recent changes (last 2 years) have redirected company's focus in a very good way - people first. Also, compensation is above average and benefits are exceptional. AE has been a part of Fort Collins for a long time and glad I'm here.

    Cons

really can't think of anything worth mentioning

    Advice to Management

    Please continue the current path

    Pros

Great, smart people. People will go the extra mile for co-works and for the customer.

    Cons

Advanced Emergency. Every issue seems to be raised to crisis level, so people are often working frantically rather than intelligently.

    Advice to Management

Cut down on status updates and crisis mangement, while focusing on our vision and winning.

    Pros

Good perks at this company. Raises are few and far between as are bonuses. Lower management understand the technology and try to manage.

    Cons

upper management is controlled byt Marketing and causes disastrous changes. Constant changes in upper management leaves little knowledge of what has been done and what should be done.

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees and respect them
