So many HUGE issues: You're required to use your personal computer for work and they also make you install software (Apex One) that tracks everything you do on your personal computer. Keystrokes. Camera access and they can take it over. One time I saw the green camera light turn on randomly for a few seconds while working and knew they were watching me. Even after I left the company they never offered to remove the spy software from my own personal computer. they'll just give you a $600 stipend. The benefits are not what they seem. The 2 weeks a year given to stay in a BG unit is not easy to book. They want you to select the city and dates and will not confirm if they can provide the unit. If it can be rented you will not get it. Even if you book your tickets and plan your trip ahead of time you don't know if you'll even have a place to stay when you arrive in Istanbul or Portugal etc. When BG Laid off 17% of the company in April they laid off the people that took the most unlimited PTO. Unlimited PTO makes you feel guilty since you know your friends/teammates will have to take on an additional workload. Stock options: The stock options are a joke. You can take your yearly bonus in stock options. what they don't tell you is that you'll get very few options since they value them very highly. If you're granted 5K in stock options from a 5K bonus you'll still have to pay 5K out of your pocket to purchase the options. Your bonus is just the option to purchase the same $ amount of what you would have been given in cash. Not cool BG. The proprietary software that's used to manage sales and most other positions has a ton of bugs and is super difficult to work with. Instead of adopting something like Salesforce they're cheap and want to use their own poor-quality software. Since all the BG engineers are based in Greek everything is formatted for Europe. If you're working in the US and see a date that's 1/9/22 that means it's Sept 1st and not Jan 9th. This causes so many issues across all of the teams. The engineers in Greece will perform updates that make the software a lot worse and will not even send out a message about what has changed. I've seen many iterations of updates that have a ton of bugs and just make it worse. Updates are also made and you'll randomly refresh the page and will need to have a new workflow. You will need to have a workflow that's made to overcome super simple bugs that have been around for years. The engineers don't care about the software the employees use and focus only on UE. The 2 Heads of Operations in Europe and the US are both horrible to work for. They're narcissistic and never wrong. They'll blame you for things going wrong in meetings that have no basis. if you defend yourself and explain things they take it as a personal attack. If you ask for specific cases in which your action had a negative impact they can never provide details. The overseas team. The overseas team in the Philippines is absolutely amazing and they're the most upbeat positive hardworking employees. Too bad they get paid close to $5 an hour. The workload is very fluctuating. During the end/beginning of the month, you'll need to work 10-12 hour days to keep up with the demand. After laying off %17 of the company they still poured money into growing the company. I believe they used that as an excuse to get rid of people and cut costs. Some people that were laid off also told me they only got 4 weeks of severance pay. There is no job security at BG. For Juneteenth, they don't consider it a full holiday. After a lunch break, everyone only gets 3/5ths of the day off which is a huge slap in the face. Almost like they see dark skin people valued at 3/5s of the white holidays. They're not knowledgeable on US history so they don't even see an issue with this. They just want to virtue signal that they're accepting of different cultures but they absolutely don't care. during the busiest time of the season, they require you to perform very time-intensive reviews of yourself and many other employees. They will constantly ask for feedback but never act on it and improve things that are the biggest concern and they then take it as complaining. Don't ever express frustration with any process or workflow because they'll just see it as complaining. There are many other things, this is just what I could remember now. Not all that glitters is gold!
