I have been working at Casper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The mission really does seem critical to senior leadership and while every company has it's growing pains, the culture has remained strong and offers opportunities to challenge yourself personally and professionally. A lot of good transparency and staff continues to get more and more specialized.

Great perks, promotions happen often and a lot of cool employee culture programs and events.

    Cons

Invest in the obvious pain points.

    Advice to Management

Senior Leadership/Founders should give new and existing employees the opportunity to interact with them. Keep the family vibe alive!

I have been working at Casper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary, benefits, culture, people, products, and future outlook.

    Cons

Communication can lag heavily so you need to think outside the box and be a good problem solver or you won't feel happy with the company and how quickly it evolves. Must be open-minded and loyal to the mission.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people for HQ teams so a lot more can be streamlined and resolved. Work on adding a roster to CX teams for faster more efficient support.

I have been working at Casper full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, great office, people are nice.

    Cons

It's a start-up so it can be a little unorganized sometimes.

I worked at Casper part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pros of working at Casper are just free coffee and PTO if you’re full time.

    Cons

Micromanagement, tense environment, no bathroom, only tourist traffic

    Advice to Management

Management is too bent on controlling workers. Takes away hours if goal isn’t met.

I worked at Casper part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free pillows after a month.
    Free mattress after six months.

    Cons

Horrible pay for work that is done.
No real potential for growth from retail stores only applies to corporate positions.
    Unrealistic expectations.
    Ignored management complaints.
Sending out pointless "do better" memos does nothing for team moral.
How about giving me a real incentive to work here because the product does not sell it self.
Lifting up 90+ pound mattresses is not what I expected to be doing with my life on a weekly basis.
Basically the Amazon of the sleep world.

    Advice to Management

No point in giving any advice because you're not gonna listen to it. You don't care about your hourly employees and it shows. The only people you care about are the salaried cronies you love to promote.

If you're looking to work at the store level expect very little reward and lots of work.

If you're looking to work for corporate expect lots of rewards for very little work.

I have been working at Casper full-time

    Pros

Decent salary, and pretty good benefits

    Cons

No diversity at HQ level, no real structure to daily store environment, wants to be at a luxury level, but doesn’t place stores in area with like minded retailers.

I have been working at Casper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Young, bright team with a lot of good ideas. True focus on our customers and delivering products that help them sleep better. Fun perks like nap pods, catered lunches and free bedroom sets.

    Cons

Middle management generally not good at managing or mentorship. Senior leadership often misaligned and very opaque about performance of the business and plans for the future. Departments often fighting over resources and prioritization of projects and initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Train, promote or hire managers that are skilled in management and not just good at the skills individual contributors are good at. Be honest about performance of the company with employees. Staff the People team so that they can hire the multitude of open roles, some of which have been open over a year.

I have been working at Casper (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits, work space, and some decently honest people.

    Cons

Really fake culture, really yuppie-like Manhattan employees, very little diversity, very little room for upward development, boring and repetitive work, fake titles, no training for other departments.

I have been working at Casper full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Casper takes hiring very seriously and consistently brings in not only talented and skilled people, but genuinely good human beings that are passionate about their work. It's a real pleasure to be surrounded by such good people.

    Cons

Typical growing pains of a young company: constantly shifting company priorities, lots of uncertainty, deficient management structures. These inherent problems can make it challenging in some cases to focus on personal professional development.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in employees' career development to ensure people have the opportunities and resources to grow their skills as the company becomes more specialized.
