Pros

You get a salary if you are unemployed.

Cons

No bonus, no work life balance, CEO believes in keeping people motivated by constantly threatening their jobs, defeatist attitude by everyone in corporate, ridiculously short on people resources, expectation to work 50 hr a week minimally, public humiliation by CEO (seriously), everyone is just going through the motions, no innovation allowed, this company hasn't grown a dollar in value in over 15 years, 50% turnover in corporate.

Pros

When someone asks me: "Where's the worst place you've ever worked?" I never need to search for my answer.

Cons

Just wanted to share to everyone who's commenting on the "pay freeze for 3 years". I worked at CGS in the mid-2000s, and the same "temporary pay freeze" was in effect then. It's amazing that I sit here, years later, bothering to put in a review on this company, but they were so criminally unethical, I feel it my duty to inform others before they make the mistake of applying and working there. A core component of Phil's business model is to screw over his employees and his contractors, and pocket the difference. The place is built around being able to replace turnover by lying to applicants during the hiring process, keeping them long enough to fill seats, squeezing every drop of blood from them, and expending as little as possible in terms of benefits / raises / vacation days, etc. before they manage to escape. You may laugh and say it can't be that bad - that deliberate and systematic -- but it is. His family must be proud of what he's built.

Pros

It is a job. They have low expectations of their employees (because at the pay levels they offer, they can only get average and below people), which means that if you have a brain, you won't have to work too hard.

Cons

This is the most old-timey technology company I have ever worked for. In the worse possible way. Executive management (phil) only cares about his own pocket, and doesn't have any compassion towards employees. Most employees you'll see roaming the NYC office are really unhappy with their job, and feel frustration, it shows. The technology they have is not special, and has no appeal to clients, In additiona: Low pay Expensive benefits No perks Terrible PTO policy

Thank you for your feedback. I am disheartened to hear that your experience at CGS was not one you felt was supportive of your expectations. CGS’s culture is one that promotes transparency and openness for everyone to be and feel heard. I appreciate your candor as we take each review seriously and learn from them in moving forward.
