I worked at Core Laboratories full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It’s a place to get experience that has good benefits.

    Cons

If there is a natural disaster they’ll expect you to rent a boat/helicopter to come in to work. During Hurricane Harvey I was flooded in and had just lost a vehicle, they threatened to fire me if I didn’t burn up my vacation or “find a way to make it in” whenever it was a physical impossibility.

    Advice to Management

Be good to your employees and they will be good to you.

I have been working at Core Laboratories full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Full benefits and 401k. When the market is on the upside there are merit raises and yearly raises after yearly reviews.

    Cons

You don’t move up if you don’t work in the lab. People only care if you show up, not if you actually work or do your job correctly. Moral is low. After nearly five years I’m still an admin 1 and have had 1 raise. They don’t care about their employees.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to support their employees, not let the rest of the company walk all over them.

    Pros

Somewhere to start and gain experience

    Cons

Company has no good culture , management is bad, outdated and broken equipment, management does not introduce and implement changes, no training on communication skills, inspection and lab sections working against each other

    Advice to Management

Management should constantly check on situation of things at different locations and ask for workers opinion.
