Pros

1. Employee Discount 2. Training of current products Other retail and electronic driven businesses love to see Best Buy as a former employee. 3. Sales model 4. Caliber of coworkers

Cons

Having been at Best Buy for 5 years, I saw many, many changes. At first, it was an employee driven company. This allowed us to ha e fun while being the best. Customers also responded strongly to this sales model. However, after a couple of years and the change of the CEO, best buy changed to sales first and moral dropped. People were fired over performance lags, and not filling out paperwork with each sale. While it is understood that businesses need to change and grow, they do not need to isolate those that made the business successful. Compensation is all across the board and really depends on when you get hired.

Pros

-It's a job that is available in most locations.

Cons

-The company, on a corporate level, doesn't seem to grasp the value of the talent they have. - Close ties with Citibank subvert the importance of product knowledge, customer service, and revenue for credit card sales. - Daily Performance check-ins are overbearing and myopic. - Tends to burnout motivated employees with false carrots and hollow promises. - Pay's terrible, and rides the line of predatory at times.
