Pros

In general, DraftKings is a good place to work. Some highlights: * "Unlimited" PTO that's easy to take; they encourage people to take time off to destress * Decent pay and benefits, including stock grants * Good documentation * Lots of very smart and helpful devs * Choice of in-office, hybrid, or remote work * Fun products to work on

Cons

While interviewing, I was repeatedly told I would be promoted within the first year. This was never put in writing and I was gullible enough to fall for it. After I joined I found out that basically nobody gets promoted in a year and it usually takes more like 2-3 years before a promotion, if it happens at all. I also found out that several other people were told the same thing during interviewing. It's a recruitment tactic that they use to get people in the door. Furthermore, they've recently announced that they're making changes to the promotion board and process to make promos more difficult to achieve. So if you happen to be interviewing for DraftKings, and like all the other potential aspects of the role and company aside from the quick promotions they promise, then by all means join. Overall it's a good company and I've definitely worked for far worse. But be forewarned that any talk of quick promotions is false and just a tactic to persuade you to accept an offer.

Pros

Truly a great company to work for. Personal development is a huge focus and this is a company that you will truly grow at. Having worked or had friends that worked at at a most of the big Boston tech companies, can confidently say DK will both treat you better and help you become more than any of the others

Cons

A lot will be expected of you and the company does emphasize performance. But it will give you the support to get it

Pros

The pros about this place is that if you want a quiet area to work when you do work there out of 3 days out of the week that they have you work there. At least that's what it was when I worked there I don't know if they've changed it. Then you work 2 days at home. It's very quiet. Most the time there is nobody there. They will train you and help you but you will eventually have to be able to do it on your own.

Cons

If you switch over to departments don't depend on the company keeping you. If you mess up. The company was literally going through a buyout with the lottery company when I was working there and everything was crashing. So I got let go because there were a lot of errors and the system that they upgraded to was worse than the one that we worked on. So basically if anything happens with the systems just make sure that you know what you're doing and that you catch up on everything.
