MongoDB is the hands down leader in the NoSQL space and the "great replacement" of RDBMS is just getting started. Outstanding growth position in a turbulent market. The entire team is focused on one mission. MongoDB has one goal. We will extend our lead in the NoSQL technology sector as we disrupt the global database technology market and replace the RDBMS. Everyone her marches to the beat of the same drum.
Cons
If you are not ready to think differently about data then this is not the place for you. You will need to embrace the fact that denormalized data models are simply more efficient, which can be difficult for some people to accept. For the DevRel team you will need to be willing to travel, a lot. We run events all over the globe and all of our technical team members are expected to be active in the community. If you prefer to mostly stay in one place there are better roles for you at MongoDB. It can feel overwhelming for folks who are coming in without a foundation of knowledge in NoSQL. Data modeling for object oriented databases is different and for those who are new to NoSQL it can seem overwhelming at first. It gets better once you get a chance to train your mental muscles modeling a few real world solutions, but in the classroom you can expect to feel lost for awhile and this is normal.
