Pros
It really differs from team to team, but a lot of groups have an excellent work-life balance. Also, the benefits are good - the gym is fantastic (and free), there are free bagels on Wednesdays, free coffee and milk, and snacks.
Cons
Again, the experience differs from team to team. A lot of groups don't have a good work-life balance - on my first team, we had to show up to the office every day and stay until 6:00 or later. A lot of teams also don't care about code quality or follow good process. I've seen a fair amount of code that was extremely poorly written and a number of questionable design decisions. It just seems like most employees just come in for the paycheck - very few people actually care about coding or computers.
