Pros

Its your business once they cut the territory. Some things are being more closely scrutinized now but it still remains the best place to manage your own business

Cons

Cutting of the territories can be quite political and inequitable. low level managers have no interest in upsetting large performing territories with accounts whom actually have cash. Instead they burn through new hires every 2-3 years in low potential territories. Like other places...some managers have no balls to make risks to create greater performance overall but would rather hang their hat on a few and pretend they had something to do with the territories that are OFTEN successful. Many, however, have a great eye for talent. Although it can often be thrown away for the same reasons above.

Pros

The individual contributors you work with are fantastic people and the products we work on are really interesting and have significant impacts on patient care.

Cons

Sports Medicine has unfortunately changed from a dynamic and collaborative group to one being led by toxic leadership. Rather than working together and trusting team members, they now have an in group and out group. If you’re in the in group, you can say anything you want without being questioned and be automatically trusted even when your track record says otherwise. If you’re in the out group and your message doesn’t align with what the leadership wants to hear, then you are automatically wrong and not to be trusted.
