Pros

- Some really good benefits (5 month maternity leave, $ a day schooling for high school and bachelor's degrees, unlimited PTO in some locations, Free LinkedIn Learnings, Store discount, Discounts on travel/cruises,etc.) - Bonus - For salaried employees, they pay based on individual performance combined with company performance. This makes for some really high bonuses when the company does really well or if you perform really well. - Culture (in some department/locations) - The departments that I worked for had a positive environment and I've created some really amazing friendships through my work associations. -Company consistently does things to stay relevant and try to stay ahead of the competition. - More career opportunities now that a lot of opportunities are 'remote' positions but because there are so many employees it's more difficult to scale the ranks.

Cons

Honestly, I overall had a great experience working for Walmart. I don't all of the layoffs they've done in 2020 across the business but that's something that comes with running a business. It's also easy to feel like you are just a number and replaceable. This is a comment for senior leadership across the org. Your experience there can really depend on your senior leadership. I've had experiences with amazing senior leadership where I felt like I was getting developed, I had opportunities, my manager had my back, etc. But I've also had experiences where leadership is unorganized, apathetic about your development, and doesn't care if you stay or leave. This makes it discouraging to do your best when you don't see any opportunities there for you at the company and is ultimately why I left.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
