      Your Work Here Matters

Sep 9, 2020 - Senior Product Manager in Burlington, MA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Leadership seeks and listens to feedback. Very important mission, work on products that matter! Working at EverBridge, the whole team, across the world has been super friendly and helpful. The people team at Everbridge is very much engaged in improving the culture and opportunities. The program management team continues to make great progress in process improvements.

      Cons

As with any fast growing company, rapid pivots to address emerging market needs and scaling up the team can cause some growing pains, but there's consistent investment in improvements for processes, prioritization, and SAFe maturity.

      Great Company

Jun 12, 2021 - Sales Executive in San Francisco, CA

      Pros

Pros 1. The people there and how the company takes care of them. Awesome people and there are plenty of events and accommodations for employees. 2.) Recognition within the industry - being in Sales it certainly helps that EB is a market leader with a strong product offering. 3. Great On Boarding experience they really want to set you up for success

      Cons

Cons At this point I can't think of much I would change

      People First

      May 26, 2021 - Anonymous Employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

They really care about their people. Every meeting or conversation is centered around doing what's best for the employees or how any change could potentially impact the people. It's reassuring to see changes come from feedback via the employee survey and that our recommendations are seriously considered versus going down a black hole. I really appreciate how caring senior leaders are; they make you want to work hard for them and not let them down.

      Cons

If you're looking for a 9am-5pm M-F bank schedule workplace, this isn't for you. That said, your managers care about you and make work/life balance more manageable. When you have great leaders that care, work becomes a team effort and you don't want to let your team down.

Mission Driven Company that Makes a Difference

May 27, 2021 - Senior Leader in Burlington, MA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

The people buy into the mission to keep people safe and organizations running which makes for less politics, a positive culture and a fulfilling job. The company grows fast and many people get promotions each year. The benefits and comp improve each year with the growth. Very generous employee stock purchase plan.

      Cons

The job is fast paced and requires more than bankers hours, but it is worth it. The company is global so sometimes need to do calls during off hours.

Continued expansion driving the Everbridge mission

May 17, 2021 - Anonymous Employee in Burlington, MA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Everbridge has grown substantially since I joined the company over 5 years ago, but it's great to see that we haven't lost sight of our mission to keep people safe and keep organizations running. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown me how much Everbridge focuses on the real-time problems our customers are facing and how we try to provide them with solutions to help them combat those challenges. It continues to be inspirational working here!

      Cons

Very fast-paced environment as the company expands into new markets and new geographies, but there are significant opportunities for growth and the company is working hard to take advantage of them.

      Fantastic Workplace

May 14, 2021 - Senior Quality Engineer in Detroit, MI
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great money, benefits, stock buying options, etc. Technology is cool and we actually build stuff that helps people. Plus Unlimited PTO. CEO David Meredith really seems to care about the people and continuing to grow and build the company. Everbridge really wants to be competitive for the top talent in the field.

      Cons

Biggest downside would probably be that due to the software being so crucial that there's a potential of off-hour work.

Good pay for the field, but poor management and toxic culture

May 20, 2021 - Intelligence Analyst in McLean, VA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Very good starting pay for intelligence analysts. - Highly flexible schedule. While analysts work taxing 12-hour shifts (starting at night for entry level), they are free to schedule themselves with a partner. If you have a flexible partner, you can make your schedule as you wish, as long as you work a minimum of 15 days per month. This makes it very easy to take vacations without even using the unlimited PTO. - The product and tools you work with are interesting and have a positive impact for customers.

      Cons

      - The 12-hour shifts can be grueling, especially when work grinds to a halt in the early morning hours. After a few months of night shifts, your body will be feeling the results. It can be hard to transition back to "days" when you're not working. - Management is poorly trained (little to no education or management training, with most management starting as intelligence analysts and promoted because of a lack of candidates). They pay very little attention to the work their analysts perform, and express little knowledge of performance when conducting reviews. Additionally, the only feedback analysts receive is negative - something as simple as a one-letter typo may elicit lengthy negative emails from multiple managers. While the company uses positive analyst performance to market the product, none of this positive feedback makes it back to the analysts. This management style also encourages analysts to do the "bare minimum," because management only cares about errors, rather than positive performance. - The culture is toxic, with many new analysts abusing their colleagues because of a perceived superiority (e.g., advanced degree, quality of education, experience in other industries), despite making the same salary with the same responsibilities. Management does nothing because they are not aware of what their employees are doing. - Analysts are trained to work on multiple teams at the six-month mark (domestic and international), effectively doubling their responsibilities, with zero additional pay. - As management cares very little about quantifying performance, promotions are based solely on tenure. This means that senior and lead analysts may perform poorly, with little knowledge on how to manage or mentor newer analysts, but will continue to receive promotions because of how long they have been with the company. While this makes it easy for newer analysts to receive promotions, it provides very little incentive to go "above and beyond" because it will receive no reward, and will increase the chances of minor errors, resulting in multiple highly negative emails from management.
