Pros

- Some people are very nice - Cool office with a good location - Good customer base

Cons

- Cultish culture, expect overwork and unreasonable expectations. They try to sell you on the "startup" culture, but this company has been past the startup phase for nearly decade. Also, don't expect startup-type stock, they give you an an arbitrary amount and wont tell you what it's worth - No growth opportunity, no performance reviews or other formal way to get raises - Management is a very siloed "Boys club" (literally all men) and they make huge impacting decisions without consulting anyone not in the inner circle. - Engineering monoculture to the extreme. Mostly loud white guys, who don't give any respect to engineers that don't speak their aggressive language. There used to be women and queer folks here, but they all left because management and most peers wouldn't give them any respect. - Distracting office, hard to get any quiet time or focused work during business hours because they schedule way too many meetings, and the culture actually encourages interrupting people for "face-to-face" communication as the primary means of work. Incredibly hard to work here if you are not an extroverted neurotypical.

Pros

If you are trusted by management, they might listen to you.

Cons

Management little to no understanding of the day to day operations and challenges that their employees face. Spent countless hours in meetings discussing these but no action is ever taken to change for the better. Products are not based off of customer needs or wants but rather what executives THINK that the customers want. The company moves fast, but in a bad way -- we try to build products with very little research, only to "pivot" months down the line, effectively scrapping the idea and starting from scratch.

Your feedback about product is understood. We have done a tremendous amount of work and research over the last 6 months to identify where we fit in the market and who our target audience is. This has driven a deeper level of customer understanding, and what the requirements are to support those customers – which is driving the direction of our product roadmap. Thank you for your candid feedback. It has gone a long way to help us evolve as a company to better serve our customers.

Not bad, could be better

Pros

The people there seem to genuinely like working with each other, and there are concerted efforts to work on communication when two people aren't quite in synch and butting heads. It's great that the company really strives in the inter-office communication department.

Cons

Some of the upper management/founders kind of bounce around from idea to idea, and from position to position. It was often difficult to gauge what the focus would be. It makes it harder when every few weeks one of the founders finds a different position in which to engage. I also think a lot of time when into fighting fires or tweaking the products just so, so that it was hard to determine where to focus my energies. It was a bit exhausting. Finally, the health insurance was simply not that good. There was a high family deductible, so I ended up with a lot of out-of-pocket costs. I know the deductible lowered, but it was still pretty high.
